The Daily Jolt at Union is part of a national network of student-run websites at colleges around the country. Started in the spring of 1999 by dropouts from Amherst College and Brown University, The Daily Jolt is building the only truly student-run network of college sites. Unlike our slicker, more corporate competitors, The Daily Jolt focuses on providing information and resources that are actually useful, on facilitating intra- and inter-campus communication, and on empowering students with sites that are not controlled or censored by universities or big corporations.
